Bartholomew Sharp
Pirates in Panama History
Bartholomew Sharp was a English
buccaneer that preyed on Spanish shipping in the Caribbean. Sharp had been
with Henry Morgan when he attack Porto Bello in 1679. He commanded a barque
that was one of the lead ships in the expedition. His men were in the forefront
of the land battles which took the Spanish city. Sharp wrote about his exploits as a buccaneer and the attack on Panama. These chronicles incorporated into Esquemeling's "Buccaneers of America". |
