The back has the coat of arms of Panama and the words "Veinticinco Centesimos de Balboa" and "G 12.500  Ley 0.900", indicating 12.5 grams of 90 % Silver".  The diameter is 30 mm (1.18 inches) and is made of 0.90 gm of Silver, and 0.10 gm of Copper. The weight of the coin was 12.50 g.
This is the equivalent of 1/2 of a Panamanian Peso.
