Under the bust and above the date is the word "Balboa". The
back has the coat of arms of Panama and the words "Cinco Centesimos
de Balboa" It also has the code "G. 2.500 Ley 0.900"
indicating its Silver content. The
diameter is 18 mm (0.71 inches) and is made of 0.90 gm of Silver, and 0.10
gm of Copper. The weight of the coin was 2.50 g. This is the equivalent of 5 ˘ US.
